Unfortunately, there is no ONE book or tool to use for all to overcome the emotional hurt of a loved one’s death.  Some suggest people visit the 5 stages of grief in some form or another: denial, anger, bargaining for time, depression, and acceptance.  We believe in supporting one another by active listening and sharing the experiences of a loved one in a safe environment.  The following links may provide some of that support.

When and where it is appropriate, please contact your son or daughter’s counselor if there is a death of a loved one near to them.  Notifying the school counselor will provide opportunities for our counselors to reach out and communicate with both students and staff.  School counselors can provide a lot of support during these emotional times.
